Thai Architecture: Wat Phra Singh

Wat Phra Singh dates back to the 14th century. It has an impressive three-tiered roof with ornate gold and multicolored designs all over its facade. It's a prime example of a Lanna style temple and known for being one of the most visually appealing, intricate temples in the Old City. There is incredible detail in the sculptural elements, as is evident in the naga, or serpent, sculptures located at the viharn's entrance. Multicolored tiles create depth and a kaleidoscopic feel to the otherwise naturalistic reptilian figure.
