Thai Architecture: Wat Chedi Luang

Wat Chedi Luang is a Thai Buddhist temple complex located in Chiang Mai's Old City. Wat Chedi Luang itself is unique from the majority of temples in the Old City today because it is entirely made of brick. Stone elephants encircle the chedi (a Buddhist stupa), and stone naga mark either side of the tall stairs leading to entrance. Gold Buddhas adorn the outside.

Wat Ho Tham

Currently, Wat Ho Tham stands at the immediate entrance to the temple complex. This newer temple is more typical of temples in the Old City with white painted columns, a pointed red roof, and ample gold details.
